Reef Beach Buttercups (Fine Art Giclée Print)

This fine art giclée print, inspired by Reef Beach on the Isle of Lewis, captures the wild, windswept beauty of a Hebridean shoreline. Based on a sketch made on location and later developed into a watercolour, the piece evokes a breezy day by the sea, where long grasses bend in the wind and bright buttercups scatter the foreground with bursts of yellow. The turquoise water, shifting under a soft, changeable sky, reflects the ever moving light that defines this landscape. Though the weather is rarely still, it is precisely this constant change that gives the Hebrides their unique atmosphere, a place where colour, mood, and light are always in motion.

This is one of my favourite spots for swimming, and the painting carries that personal connection, a sense of familiarity, freedom, and quiet joy found at the edge of land and sea.
